The Browns continue to slowly progress through training camp at the Greenbrier. Today, the Browns are not practicing, but they are having team meetings, possibly a walk-thru, and team-building activities. It definitely seems Stefanski and his staff are taking a systematic ramp-up in this camp. The Browns are resting players, holding shorter practices, and only a few 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 sessions. Also, the Browns are conducting a lot of install sessions for their offense and defense. They are using this Greenbrier trip for the team to get acclimated for the marathon that is the NFL season.
Here are some of the notes that I have gained from reports:
- Browns placed C Brian Allen on injured reseve. Tough break, but maybe he can return as a depth spot for the Browns later in the season.
- Cameron Mitchell and Jerome Ford both returned to practice.
- The Haslams seem to be moving towards a dome. They want “what is best for the fans”
- AB is in favor of a dome
- AB thinks it is realistic for both Newsome and Tomlinson to be ready for week 1.
- Watson has thrown in every session. He is still on restriction of throws made in practice, but he appears to be throwing the ball well. A lot of quick and over-the-middle routes are currently being installed.
- There have been a lot of fun interviews this week on Cleveland Browns Daily that are definitely worth your time!
How is the team currently performing?
From what I gather it has gone back and forth between the offense and defense. The defense will shut down the offense, then the offense will come back and put some nice plays together. It really is difficult to say because we have to go off of the reporters that are there. Thursday is supposed to be an intense team practice. Hopefully, we will get to see a lot of fun match-ups between the offense and defense. The Browns are then scheduled to come back to Cleveland on Friday.
