Jowon Briggs, a native of Cincinnati, played two seasons at Virginia before transferring back to Cincinnati to play his final three seasons for his hometown. After listening to some interviews with Jowon you can tell he is very mature. He has three children with his wife and he is a family-driven man. Andrew Berry said that he had never received a letter after his predraft visit like he did from Jowon. In his final season at Cincy, he had 27 tackles, 6 TFL, and 2 sacks. In an interview with the Browns, they discussed that Jim Schwartz’s attacking defense will be a much better fit for his game. Jowon landed on Feldman’s freaks list because of his impressive strength. If he can use that strength and pair it with a couple of moves, he could cause some havoc on the O-line. It is going to be tough for Jowon to make the 53-man roster. Hopefully, he is impressive enough that the Browns can’t let him go to the practice squad, but the DT room is very deep. The best-case scenario is that he learns from the vets in front of him this year and turns into a solid rotational guy down the road. He seems like a great dude, I hope he makes it!
