Browns Draft Pick: Nathaniel “Bookie” Watson

  • 206 – LB Nathaniel Watson, Mississippi State
    • Nathaniel or “Bookie”, spent six seasons at Mississippi State. He will be 24 years old by the start of the season, but with his age comes a lot of experience. That experience showed in the 2023 season as he was voted the SEC Defensive Player of the Year. In the 2023 season, he recorded 137 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception. I think Bookie is a good athlete with a nose for the football. He is great when sent on a blitz and will lay the boom when he has the chance. Part of the reason he was a 7th-round pick was due to his off-the-field issues. He was arrested in high school for drag racing and a DWI in 2023. Hopefully, he has learned from his mistakes and understands the opportunity he has in front of him. Bookie can be the replacement for Takitaki. We don’t have many linebackers with his size. I believe his best-case scenario would be to have a similar tenure to Takitaki. Develop as a Brown and have a nice 5-6-year run with the team.
