The Browns and Nick Chubb have agreed to a reworked deal. Before the renegotiation, Chubb was to receive $12.2 million. Now, he will receive $2.275m in 2024. Almost a $10m pay cut. Chubb will have a chance to earn more money back with incentives, however, those have not been made public yet.
Good News:
- Nick Chubb will be on the 2024 roster.
- The Browns save close to $10 million.
- Chubb will be motivated to earn his money. (Although I don’t think he is all too motivated by money but it does play a role.
Not So Great News:
- With this type of pay cut, we may not see Chubb until mid-way through the season. Hopefully, he can be back around week 5.
- This could be Chubb’s last year as a Brown. Again, if he plays well I think they will bring him back on a two-year deal.
Sidenote: I think this opens the door for the browns to draft a running back with one of their first three picks. I like Trey Benson if he is there at 85!
