The Browns have added a three-year extension to Jeudy’s contract. This extension will be added to the 5th year deal that he is currently on. The extension is worth $58 million with $41 million fully guaranteed. All of the numbers are not out on the contract but Jack Duffin of the OBR is speculating that $13.5 million of the $41 million guaranteed is a part of his current 5th-year deal.
I love this deal when you look at the free agent WR that received contacts this year Here are a few:
- Calvin Ridley: four-year $92m (Age 29)
- Mike Evans: two-year $52m (Age 30)
- Michael Pittman: Jr. three-year $70m (Age 26)
- Gabe Davis: three-year $39m (Age 24)
- Darnell Mooney: three-year $39m (Age 26)
When you break it down the extension is closer to what Davis and Mooney received. It is also important to remember that Jeudy is only 24 and is the youngest of this group. AB has been able to capitalize on getting out in front of contracts to maximize value (i.e. Njoku)
What do you guys think? Did the Browns make a good decision by extending Jeudy early?
