One thing that stands out is how deep this roster is. The bottom of this roster is going to be an absolute battle. This is not just for our rookies, but for players who made the roster last year or made it on a different team. The competition at camp is going to be fun to watch. Along with my early prediction, I will give you my favorite camp battles and some ways the roster will even itself out.
- OL – How many Guards and Tackles will they keep?
- #6 WR – David Bell v. Woods/Darden/Proche
- #4 & #5 LB – Diabate/Fields v. Bush
- #4 Safety – Hickman v. Bell
- #5 DT – Hurst v. Ika/Briggs – This will be the most fun!
What could happen now until the end of the preseason?
- Trades – the Browns have done trades at the beginning of summer and during the preseason. I will write blogs on potential trade candidates for the Browns.
- Injuries – The unfortunate aspect of football is injuries. Some of the training camp battles may come down to who is healthy.
- Roster Magic – AB excels in roster flexibility and using rules to the Browns advantage. There could be a scenario where they are able to cut a player, and then add them back to the roster for week one.
